PROGRAMME
A day-long guided retreat including spiritual input, personal prayer and common prayer.
Quiet days from 10am to 4pm.
A light lunch is included.
Richard Laugharne will introduce the day with the theme “I Will be Glad”. Richard is an NHS consultant psychiatrist, while also being a Reader in the Church of England and the Chair of the St German’s Priory Trust. Richard has written a book with this title. His central thesis is that good theology bolsters our mental health, and the book gives insight and hope to those who grapple with low mood, anxiety, guilt or self-reproach, or never feeling ‘good enough’ in the sight of God.
The day will start with a cup of coffee or tea at 10.00 then a short introduction at 10.30, followed by a time for personal prayer. The rest of the day will include Midday Prayer, a simple lunch in silence, a further introduction and choice of prayerful activities in the afternoon, ending with tea at 4pm.
